elo lads just had a blindin session,

last week i was doing 5 sets 5 reps with 160kg

2day i just done

10 with 160kg
8 with 170kg
7 n bit with 180kg

Then 6 with 190kg 2 sets

Anyone have any idea what my max should be the last time i done my 1 rep max it was 200kg

im 18 and been training 4 months now. i really dont no why i am goin up the weight so quick??? any ideas????

Possibly form corrections?Weight gain?New equipment?Or simply test?;)

2x 6 with 190kg after that much volume should equal about 220kg maybe more..

btw...are these squats all to depth?and what bw are you?

I think you can hit 225kg, but i think you dont hit parallel...

i hit at least parallel i have a spotter stand next to me to make sure i am at least parallel il post a video when i can get someone to do it.

from 5*5*160kg to 2*6*190kg... in 1 week, that's strange.

im bout 98 kg i benched 130 for first time this week and deadlift about 220kg at mo got me first comp in november so training for tht its only a small gym comp but gota start somewhere

You should enter a proper comp but fair play for entering.

Your raw squat is big.

Excellent squatting for your weight Ox. Try and go for a single max and let us know how you get on.
Try and get a video too.
Im 18 too @ 99-100kg and just managed to squat 190kg x 1 last night.

If you are going parallel then you should be proud of those numbers!!
If you aren't going parallel then im sure you're not far from it and you should still be proud.

You going to be competing in the BDFPA? Because if you are you would seriousley smash the World Drug Free Powerlifting Squat record for 100kg weight class 18-19 year olds uneqquiped.
The current record is 180kg for our group.

Why oh why go for the cheap option, why not join a federation with REAL british records and aim to beat those instead of beating a sub international standard lift and trying to claim false glory off of it.

A world record in the sub junior 100kg class is a 180kg squat?! You wouldnt get that bullshit in the IPF/BWLA. (or WPC/BPC)

Not trying to be a dickhead, just trying to push you in the right direction, if you want to make a name for yourself then put yourself in comps where you will have tough competition not the easy way out.

That would be equipped though and these guys mean unequipped. Still, the record would be no where near that in the wdfpa.

385 is a nice record too :)

Maybe this record is pretty low! but 90kg class is 210kg. If he wants to lift unequipped AND drug free he has to lift in the BDFPA, IPF is equipped so that's not the same sport!
BTW wdfpf is growing, and the standards improve every year.

False glory? A record is a record as far as im concerned. To compete drug free and uneqquiped I have to join the BDFPA!

I will probably never compete equipped and will only compete in drug free lifting. So that just leaves BDFPA/WDFPA I believe.
No record is a bad record in my opinion.

The 100kg class squat record for my age group is lower than the 90kg class but theres plenty of people including myself who can change that for sure. Im 19 next november so I have until then to stay under 100kg and to get my squat and deadlift to a new level.

Im proud of myself whichever way. I set my own goals and damn well love to hit them!

Same for Oxboy, go at your own pace and work your way through the feds and up and up. Your young and have time and biology on your side. Wish I'd have started 20 years earlier.

You have gone from 160k x5 for5 to 190k x6 to 230k in 13 days on squats.

Then you say you can deadlift "about" 220k - Nobody lifts about anything! Now that has suddenly increased to 230k.

Can you post up your session where you attained these lifts please, and also, a vid as promised would be good!:cool:

ox boy, do the BPC open this year and compete raw at it, if you get your lifts to pass then people won't question your very strange jumps in lifts...

Trust me mate, i wouldn't go round waiting to hit raw numbers with 300, it may never happen lol. Just compete this year and see how you do.

Don't forget that squatting to paralell is no good, it has to be BELOW if you plan to comepte in the BDFPA.

here ya go as promised 220kg squat i appolgise for hw dark it is the dude that filmed it is a div and stood n the wrong place but u cant just about see it. i think i wwent at least paralle so my spotter said. so can ya giv me some advice on how to inprove it ta

why does anyone use straps when deadlifting? the grip is a part of the lift - u need to train it to be able to hold onto heavy weights for an extended period to pass a lift in competition. if u must use them - then go to a max weight where ur grip fails, then add straps for the next sets to progress!
