I would stick at your current body weight possibly slowly cut down but very slowly and go into the 100s...

Considering you have only been training 3 months and in your own words 'messing about in gym's up until then' the lifts you put down are more than impressive, especially given your age. If you are serious about wanting to improve and compete then you are definately in the right place, the information and advice I have recieved so far on here has been fantastic. Some very knowledgable lads on here !!

Ha ha, surely there's no rush, you are only 18 after all, just keep growing and learning, the big numbers will follow... shit I wish I'd started powerlifting at that age, all those wasted years pissing about in the gym with cables and curls.... I could cry !

With those lifts and at your age you should pretty much kick some ass straight away!

I would stick at 98kg and just concentrate at lifting the weights before worrying about how much you weigh and what catagory you will be in!

A raw 550kg total would be superb at your age given your level of experience. Something like 250/150/250....concentrate on heavy weights and forget about body fat otherwise you will become another Funky Monkey.

ox boy; Dont' listen to the gym owner because if you do lose weight then your bench will suffer. It's a bitch but it's true, I would do like Curt suggested above and you'll be much happier. I started out at 95kg and 24.5% bf and am now 129kg at 19% bf so keep getting stronger and the extra muscle you gain will increase your metabolism and help lower your bf at the same time. I feel great at my current weight but I do eat pretty clean though I do so love my dozen donuts on friday night "it's sorta like washing your hair night for girls". Best of luck and stay strong.

After 3 months training I could barely deadlift 100kg or squat 80kg!!!
