olympic lifting for variation

Want to do some olympic lifting for variation and fun.

What lifts can you suggest involving a barbell?

Clean&Jerk
Snatch
Overhead squats.

clean and jerk is hard, you cant give advice over the net for technique really, you need a coach in person and on a regular basis if you want to learn properly.

I can sort of snatch ok, but clean and jerk I still havent had the guts to do properly, for fear of injury

I find snatch harder.

Not to worry James, I will stick with powerlifting will just be doing it for variation. Will be doing extreme lightweights. pff, I am lazy ;P

Stick to hang/power versions as they are easier to learn and execute.

I use to do olympic movements 4 times a week before starting any sort of training, and go heavy on it, did around 20 minutes oly training, pwoer cleans, snatches, high pulls rotated the movement every session, going heavy on it

A hard snatch is a turn off, but a nice wet soft snatch can lead to excesive jerks post bedroom activity.

Best exercise with a barbell - bicep curl. Preferably in a monolift or at least power cage!
