Lift your head up and roll your shoulders up so that it has shorter distance to travel, also trey bringing it down to your lower chest more.

Wet the shit out of the chest plate and seams.

EDIT: Get an old spray bottle that had kitchen cleaner in or something, fill it with water and spray on your shirt when you have it on.

metal miltiia say to keep the head planted in the bench! this also depends on the fed you lift with, some dont allow this.

anyway. it depends ont he shirt. one tip i was given by Dave fitz a 300kgs bencher with my F6 was:

"bring it down fast!!" put the bar where YOU want it to go and not letting it go forward or over your head.

what shirt is it and it will aid in the help you can get

It's an Inzer Rage X, I was only an Inch off, but because i was pulling the bar down so hard, I ended up failing at the 220kg. Cheers Guys.

Use different sized boards to break it in gradually over a period of weeks.

lower faster as already mentioned, another tip ive heard is to begin lowering with the elbows out to the sides until everything starts to really tighten up then start tucking the elboes in,this is supposed to allow you to touch in a super tight shirt.

I was taught that if your shirt is dialled in right then you should get 25 -50kgs out of it.If you are a 230+ raw bencher and you cannot get 220 to touch then your shirt is roughly correct! What you have to do is find the weight that WILL touch and develop the strength to lock it out!
Go to joe average powerlifting and read up about dialling in and getting a bar to touch.I think its Jim Parrish who runs the site.

also, let the collar ride high, dont jack the shirt. cross your hands over, give the shirt a slight tug to get the crease out, then close the belt, all the time insuring the shirt isnt tight and that collar is riding nice and high.

then again, proceed to bring the shirt down fast and put the bar where you want it.

keep at it and you will eventually touch. took me 3 weeks in a brand new F6 which is similar in style to the rage-x

Collar placement plays a huge roll in what weight will touch and what weight will not. The higher the collar the lighter the weight to touch. If the shirt is to tight then nothing that you can control will touch. Most of the times a little looser shirt will be more versatile. For instance. I can touch 200kg in my Katana but can also adjust the collar down and cant touch 275kg.

Mike speaks the troof!! (as does Ger)

Pull the creaes out of the shirt so the front of it's smooth (have you belt ready to close), lift your arms out in front of your and raise them up. This should bring the collar up higher while keeping the shirt crease free. Then close your belt.

The biggest thing that helped me touch in my new Katana was aiming much lower than I needed to. Almost to the point where it felt like I was going to dump the bar.

And remember... If all else fails, pull it down towards you balls and throw it back towards your face!!
