I have a feeling that 2008 will be a good year for the BPC. Sam's show in March starts the season off, which promises to be a good show, followed by Garry's comp in Port Talbot on 12 April, which will be supported by the boys from Leeds as well as the usual crowd, and Mark's annual event in Slough towards the end of April which is always a well-run show and is likely to play host to a number of novices this year.

We then have the British in July which gets bigger each year and I can't see why this year should be any different. For those BPC members who like lifting in the GPC, they have the opportunity to become World Champion in their own back yard as the Championships are being run in Birmingham. Not to forget Andy's attempt to regain his records in Florida, accompanied by a strong British contingent. This is promising to be a year to remember for BPC lifters.

Does anyone else share my optimism?

You forgot to include another Hirep Bash ! and the posability that the Devon lads and Gee in Leeds might also be getting comps on under the BPC :)

I hope it will be a good year for the BPC, and the other Feds too. Personally I'd like there to be more cross Fed lifting as there is in Wales under the Welsh Strength Association banner.

I can think of lots of good head to heads in BPC this year, which is what we all need to see. Never any good when one lifter walks a class.

Overall the standard of lifting seems to be improving, although there were too many bombers in Bournemouth - hopefully this won't happen again. We need to see BPC totals a good 10 - 15 per cent higher than the equivalent BWLA lifters in Britain - higher than this where we can. We should be capable of this with our favourable "conditions" of lifting.

I Think This Year Is Going To Be A Very Exiting Year For Every One, In Leeds We Are Training Very Hard And Are Very Serious About Trying Our Best To Either Win A Show, Or Hit A Pb, I Can Imagin That Is The Same Around The Country, Also Alot Of Lads Had A Bad Year With Bombing Last Year And Dont Want To Do The Same Again This Year,
There Is Alot Of New Lifter Climbing The Ladder Now So Its Anyones Game Good Look To You All
