Yes the Arnold is a wicked place to visit. I love the whole weekend and as you say so many things going on. That is the first place I saw power lifting "live" and I loved it!

PS I wish I was going this year with Benni and Terry competing. I have not seen Gemma and Benni since they got married. We were at the Arnold when they met. I have comepted against Gemma a few times in strong woman and I hope she will come back after the baby is born.

I had been training in the gym for 6-7 years but not competed in anything. I saw an advert for a show to be held close to where I live in London and I though why not. I got the events sent to me and I was in shoch and I entered to see who the other "stupid" women would be (who thought they could do the weights that was down for the events).
To my surprise we were all a lot stronger than I thought! 9 women competed and all did well. I placed 3rd and was hooked. This happend in 1997. I did another comeptition (same place) the next year, placed 3rd again out of 8 this time.
Then no comeptitions for a few years, but I was invited to comepte in Scotland in July 2002 and I have travelled to many great placed since and done about 35 comeptitions. I am still training for more now and I have also added power lifting to my world. I will be doing the British (under BPC) later this summer, so I am planning to start training with suits and so on!
How about you, would you not like to have a go at strong woman?
Have you any plans for you next power lifting competition?
