Hi Everyone

I have been lurking in the background for the last few weeks, looking at the site, and reading everything I can on powerlifting.

The class of lifters on this forum is Unbelievable, World Champs, European Champs, British Champs, in fact all sort's of champs:) .

I have had a 2 year layoff from weights, just working and had Back Problems so I just Quit, but I have been training 2 Whole Months Consistantly now, Westside Routine, I am starting to gain a wee bit of strength back now each week:D .

I really want to concentrate on Powerlifting, I am 34 and I weigh about 90KG at 5'6, I want too get as strong as I possibly can.

I am looking forward to speaking to you all, and asking many questions.

Thanks to everyone involved in this site, it is Fantastic, I can't wait to start talking, and I might start to post a training diary as well, so I can see how I am getting on each week, and people can give me training tips.

I wish everyone all the best, and I hope you all acheive what you set out to do:) .

Hi

Welcome to the site.
Where abouts do you live?, because this time of year is when qualifiers are happening around the country. This weekend you have the Welsh qualifier at Port Talbot where you see quality lifters and I mean quality.

On the 17th & 18th March is the South East qualifier at the Wexham School Sports college near Slough......this will an awsome event with top top lifters.

Then on July 13th &14th is the British Final, this is not to be missed....trust me:cool:

This would be a good time to come to one of these shows, depending on where you live, to see how these guys n gals prepare, see the determination, the blood, the sweat, the scream:shock: and of course.... THE ATMOSPHERE :)

Thanks everyone for the welcome, it is much appreciated especially coming from some great powerlifters as your self's:) .

I am from Scotland BigD "Man I can see why your called BIGD, your massive:shock: ", it would be a bit far for me too travel the now, I do not have transport at the moment, I think I will go to some Local Comps, but I am getting the Bug for Powerlifting and I will go to the next big Powerlifting event probably at the end of this year or the beginning of next, I can't wait to see you guys Lifting, the weights getting lifted nowadays are superhuman, especially by the lighter guy's, it will be my honour and pleasure to see one of the Big Powerlifting shows, and too meet the awsome members of this site:) .

I really can't wait to see these comps in real life, and to push my self to my limits in the next few years, thanks again for the welcome.

Hi mate and welcome to the site. I believe there are some BDFPA (or WDFPF) comps coming up in Grangemouth which, being in Scotland, might be a bit nearer for you to go along and watch.

Welcome mate. I've found everyone here really helpful, and I'm not even that strong yet. It's a great forum.
