i am in training for the world championships in november,i have been world champ for the last 4 years and best overall lifter for the last 3 years.i have been powerlifting for 26years.i have done 782.5kg total but i would like to get 800kg this year, i think this would be a great achievment.my training is going very well at the moment,i do mostly singles and just the basic lifts.just a little assistance work and some rack work.this week i have squated 260kgx1 benched 200kgx1 and d/lifts 290kgx1 so i am on course.i will do these weights again next week, then go up 10kg for 2 weeks then drop to my starters for the last 2 weeks.my supplements for this build up are creatine mono.creatine phos.and creatine ethel ester.l-glutamine.collostrum.hmb.zma.and protien.and that is it nothing else.

Personally I don't think 800kgs is anything special drug free or not.

Lots of the BWLA records are a lot heavier than that for body weights lower than your own.

Pork pie, I think he means 800kg unequipped which is fucking good. If you seriously don't think 800k raw is pretty special then you are an idiot. If you missed the raw bit then fair enough!

Hey Dai bro, I think your posts are always bang on but I think if you saw Sam lifting you would be impressed. He pulled 290kgs last night with about 20-30kgs left in the tank.
You have lifters who claim to be drug free, then you have lifters who are drug free. I myself would love to say he is juiced to the eye balls, but he is def clean and is a very impressive lifter. Its difficult to tell what he would do with drugs and equipment, but Sam would def be lifting up with some of the best lifters in the world. He was totaling 760-780kgs as a junior at 90kgs long before the fancy equipment came along.
Ive seen him train with my own eyes and he is one strong dude, period.

i am 40yrs young now so i lift in the masters and open class,my bodyweight is 127kg at the moment.davis has hurt his back so he has finnished powerlifting, but will just do bench next year.i started powerlifting at 15yrs old, by 23yrs old i totaled 810kg@110kgbut this was all done equiped, and with bwla.i did 800kg a few times for a couple of years then found out about the bdfpa.i have been with these for about 13yrs ,the last 6yrs i have been lifting raw.this is just a belt and wrist wraps.it is much harder lifting raw physicaly and mentaly, the gains you make are very small, and take time.so i am still on my mission to total raw the same as what i done equiped.and drug free.

I maintain the records for the Wesh Powerlifting Union (the welsh federation that's affiliated to BWLA) and Peter has held the record for the squat, bench, deadlift and total in the 125 class for about 10 years now.

hmm don't know tbh, took about 6 months out of the game,I have entered for the bwla london champs, as this will be my first comp,I'll be doing it unequipped,I am aiming to total 500kg from squats and deadlift,I havent benched in 2 months due to shoulder injury so will only be taking a token lift on the bench.

Actually Ger,Mark was in the 145 kg class. He only weighed about 127-128 though. I really hope Mark and Peter are in the same class,it will be a great battle. Mark comes to our gym every month or so to train with Gerald Pilling, he is in great form as are Gerald and Andy Varley,Mark's regular training partner.

Powerman, I have recently begun doing the 3 powerlifting movements (2 weeks ago). My lifts are fairly pathetic deadlift 150kg f0r 2 reps squat 105 for 5 reps and bench 80kg for 6 reps. How much improvement can I expec to see in one year considering im of average strength and skinny at 6ft and 180 pounds?
Cheers, Reyno
