Can someone expliain to me what this table means, with the gold, silver etc

Is this qualifying totals for the finals, eg if I lift in 110kg class, I need 765kg to qualify?

pretty sure those are the qual totals for the british. yeah you would need 765@110. the other grades are just a way of grading yourself i think eg like elite/master/class 1.... just a different classification system.

are these totals just to allow you to compete in the british finals ??? (the ones in bath)

if they are - i have no chance !!!!

Thanks, assuming I dont bomb :(, I should qualify then.

So what do the Gold/Silver mean? Just out of interest.

I think the finals in Bath may be BPO, they were last year, unless the BPC has taken their idea for a venue, (and it is a very nice venue indeed).

Lol, the BPC southern qualifier was in Windsor, and the finals were in Maidstone for 2006.

I think the BPC Finals are going to be somewhere on the south coast next year, but I cant remember where, but I could be totally wrong :(.

OK, can you only do that at that years qualifiers? The web site does not make it that clear.

Anyone know for sure?

I competed in this show last year and was told it did qualify me for the British. However, I can't say for definite as I competed in Windsor to make sure. Does anyone know why the BPC British always seems to be held so far South. Wouldn't it be better to hold it in a more central location so the maximum distance any competitor has to travel is kept as low as possible.

Cheers Dave, Birmingham is not that far south, certainly a lot further north than I'd like, :)

I shall probably do Windsor too, but it would be nice to know if I have to or not.

Good luck for Oct.

you can qualify for next years british in uk also you have 3 more comps to qualify before british welsh/southern/northen all qualifers ,dave the reason british is south as there are more promotors lee does northern and uk which hard enough as you know it is a nightmare to organise a show let alone british so much involved we BPC need more promotors up north i wouldlove to come to leeds and liftQUOTE=Nytol]Cheers Dave, Birmingham is not that far south, certainly a lot further north than I'd like, :)

Hi

I will try to reply to all your questions?

The first qualifier for the British is the Team Championships in December. The qualifying total also depends on your age.

The South East is held in Windsor because nobody else is interested in holder a competition anywhere else in the South.

Regarding the Gradings is just for the lifters benefit, to see how he improves. Also each time you get to a new grade the lifter can purchase a certificate for their own records.

Hope this info helped.

Thanks FC, so to qualify I will have to do the teams, or the Southern?

I am 29, so I assume the 765kg total is the one I should be looking at?

Why is the Open not a qualifier; just out of interest. If you lift X amount of KG, and it is a qualifying total, then what is the difference between doing it there or the teams, or southern etc.

Yes you will need to do 765kg at 110kg.

Before the qualifiers only used to be the regionals and since 2 years ago the organisation as decided to have the teams as the 1st qualifier for the British.

If we had the UK open as a qualifier it will be difficult for organiser to get enough entries to cover the cost of organising a regional qualifier.

You're a Senior Jon, so you'd need to make Grade 1 to make the grade.

You will get it sorted next year, (I hope too aswell), once you, and I, master that nasty equipment, then the newbies can show what we have,

Yeah Windsor was a good show, and a nice town too, fucking rip off to park in the centre though, but that is the only bad thing.

Leave your dusters and knives at home if you go to the castle, as it is worse than going though airport security to get in; nice though if you like that sort of thing, (she does, I'm not that fussed).

I am still slightly confused to the difference between the Open, and a qualifier, is the UK Open not considered a proper comp, ie will records stand if broken.

What are the differences that make one a qualifier, and one not, what additions would need to be made for it to be considered a qualifier?

british in bornmouth next year

I thought that was the place, but was not 100%, another pretty decent town :)
