Congratulations Dale. Winning all but one event sounds like you were in command from the start.

Is that the TWI comp? if it is Colin Bryce said he was going to invite me but he also said that last year and he invited a argintinian rugby player that had been living in Wales - no experience and he came last!

Heres a small write up of how my comp went -
first event over head medley 80/100/120kg log + 110kg 3" bar.
I pulled no 1 out of the hat so I had to go first (for the second year running!) - this was way to light for a open comp!
1st place

second event - Tyre deadlift 280-300kg.
I liked this piece of kit the weight was comfortble but as usual my grip was playing up - 2nd

Third event - squat 260kg in weight - this was a nice change to a free weight squat but way to easy - I had to go 1 from last on this and 10 reps was the best so far and I thought Mike who was going last was going to push me on the squat - he didnt and I easily won - 1st

fourth event - wheel barrow - this was a good weight in hands - I picked it up and my grip failed me straight away - I panicked a little and thought I was going to come last in this event - but I managed to grip it and carry it a good distance put it down and as I was about to pick it back up Colin said you`v Won, so I left it there - 1st!

fifth event truck pull - this was to light by far I covered the 20m in about 19seconds to win!
sixth event - medley!
I fliped the tyre 5x(rough weight 370kg) - carried the shakle and loaded it to the pick up - tacky kept rubbing off my sweaty hands and I finaly managed to load the 100kg stone and I left the 130kg - 2nd place and the overall win!

Well done Dale on winning, looked like you had a lot more gas in the tank,I find my grip goes when I bulk up due to fluid in fingers and short fingers dont help try carrying thin discs together around and hold as long as you can as I spoke to Kaz years ago when he came to Porttalbot its your fingers that give you srength not forearms,my grip is stronger now than its been for years just holding 3x15 thin discs together ,

Awesome big man!!!
Grip is always going to be a thorn in your side, you have small hands and thick fingers.
