She has got her arch down to a science, very impressive.

Its probably more like 8 inches.

Most of the Ladies have reasonable arches but the huge arches seen in bench competitions seem to have gone from the 3 lift competitions as the lifters generally couldn't deadlift - Svetlana broke the European Deadlift Record straight after those bench presses.

It makes sense to push the bar as short a distance as possible. Even though Marian does not have a very big arch I still get her to do does more than half her bench training lying over a 4 inch pipe to try and increase the arch and decrease the distance pressed. Also a large arch places the sternum in a more vertical position which is generally a lot stronger as it allows you to the Lat to a greater extent
