theres a BAWLA meet in warrington in ...er.. March i think.
hi mate, yea there is a powerlifting comp in warrington at the young offenders institute on april 30th - its a natural/tested event i believe so i cant join in even for the fun/experience.
could anyone please remind me of untested PL organisations and will there be any North/NW comps i could enter ?
i would really like somthing to aim for (rather than the wifes head):icon_puz:

Un-tested feds are the BPC and BPO Jonny. There's a BPO british in 3 weeks so your too late for that one, don't know about the BPC but check out their sites below for details:
BPC: http://www.britishpowerliftingcongress.com/upcoming_competitions.html
BPO: http://www.wpfpowerlifting.com/2006BPOCalendar0fEvents.pdf
Sep 17th UK OPEN POWERLIFTING & BENCH-PRESS CHAMPIONSHIPS
Venue: Spatz Gym, Morfydd, Swansea
Entry to BPO by NO later than 27th August
Promoter: Ken Williams (07970 625946)
Thanks mate,
I would like some sort of regional event however i am fully prepared to enter a bigger one but im sure there would be a minimum lift entry - afterall i am at the lower end , mabie reaching a qualifying lift/total could be my first goal.
what does open mean ? from any country or any level ?
i do tend to get over excited, i guess there is no rush
(south wales seems to be where the action is at !!)

Open means that anyone can enter the comp, except national champions (winners of the British), but they can lift as guests.
Lee Marshall runs a great BPC Open comp in Birmingham in September if it's any closer to you.

Depending on how training and injuries go for the next few months, I may do one of those.
well if novices are welcome then i would seriously consider entering, would be a great experience.
would there be any of those 2 more suited to me than the other ?
birmingham n swansea are probably roughly similar (ish) distances from preston
either way, thanks for the input fellas:)
does anyone have any more info on the event organised by Lee Marshall ??
mabie contact info or a nice pic of his ....no, mabie just the contact or event details
cheers

lee marshall british open contest is perfect for you jonny. i done it last year and there was a great mix of novices and advance lifters. lee is very friendly and looks after the lifters, he made me feel welcome and helped calmed me down. it was all finshed at about 430 so the day was not too taxing.:D
put your name down asap as there is nothing like a contest to make you pull your finger out and blast those pbs:mad:
thanks lee, good to hear mate, called lee and should have a application form within the week.

nice one jonny you wont regreat it, the high you can get when a contest is going your way is unreal and can last for days. even if the contest is a bit of a struggle you will meet some great lifters and a lot of friendly like minded people to help you out.
dont worry about what other people are lifting that does not matter, not just yet any way.( you are well ahead of what i could deadlift at my first contest any way) read the ruels for the gpc on britishpowerliftingcongress.com you dont want to be hit with a technicality. and have fun building up.:D
now it time to shop for equipment:D
