Cheers Phil.

We're all flying out tomorrow, early. Craig is going for around 925kgs after Erwin Krokke in the 100kgs - it will be the rematch after Erwin won in the Europeans. Ger is lifting in the 100kg masters.

I'll try and sort some report and photos out.

Hello Everyone!

Had a brilliant time in Germany, apart from my lifting!

Ger had one hell of a battle in the 100kgs Masters 1 class against Peter Malfa, and almost took him with an outstanding attempt on his thrid deadlift. Something like 307.5kgs flew off the floor but our boy couldn't lock it out.

Craig went well in the open 100kgs class making 367.5kgs look easy in his second squat and just missing 385kgs on his third with some ab cramp. he then benched 242kgs easily and pulled 290kgs. I think he was feeling knackered after the heavy squats. He won his class and best open lifter.

I was looking forward to doing my lifts and felt great but it just didn't happen for me on the day and I bombed on the bench. I squatted okay, making 350kgs easily and then getting 370kgs down and up with good depth. Bench press - No excuses, just wasn't strong enough to lock out on 227.5kgs which is a safe weight for me based on the past couple of weeks training (or so I thought!). Lesson well and truely learned, the hard way - at a Worlds, abroad, in front of all your team mates!!

Got extremely drunk with the Irish powerlfting team who are the biggest drinkers I've ever run into in my life.

Training resumes Friday!

Unlucky mate. Don't beat yourself up over it, it seems to happen to everybody sooner or later. As you say, lesson learnt. I went drinking with some Irish lifters once and they were all completely mental! :p

Craig totalling 900k @ 100 is awesome. Do they allow double-ply in the WPF? I don't really know anything about it. Got a link to any results?

Never mind Dai I am sure you will come back stronger, these things happen sometimes .
Good lifting by Craig ,though.
One of my training partners lifts in the BPO [when he is not injured]so hope to see you lift again soon.
