Well I competed yesterday in an unequipped competition between the UK police team, MET team and an Army team of novices.
My lifts were
Squat
220kg (fail) - really nervous for some reason and stepped forward before the ref said rack!! PILLOCK!!!
220kg - Ok - very deep and stayed still after the lift!!
235kg - Ok.
Bench
140kg - Easy
155kg - Easy
165kg - Line completely wrong and nearly broke my wrists - very bad lift.
Deadlift
240kg - Easy
265kg - Failed - apparently rested the bar on my thighs! (never!!)
275kg - Easy
I came second overall on the Wilkes system and first for the MET team. There were no weight classes as such but I weighed in at a sprightly 116kg my lightest ever.
The UK police won - JUST - even though they had a lifter bomb out which proves how good the rest of the team were!
The army novices lifted really well and for all of them it was there first competition and they only started on Monday! There were some 240kg Deadlifts amoungst them which is excellent for just a week!! Thier benches were all strong including a 175kg. What let them down was the squat with the best only doing about 130kg.
Overall it was a great day and I drank far too much that night which was a bonus!!
