Alright fella's new to this forum so thought I'd introduce myself. Looks like a well run forum with a lot of knowledge so look forward to posting. I compete in BAWLA and didn't realise the amount of different feds here in the UK. If anyone could post me any info about any of the other feds that'd be great. Cheers
welcome neil how long ya been training mate ??

I second Neil's request, I thought that BWLA was the only organisation in the UK. I was even planning on getting some equipment and competing next year but to be honest I'd rather lift RAW or just knee wraps because of artritis (now I'm being too picky), would drug free be possible as well?
Some info would be much appreciated.
Many Thanks for a great website.

Welcome Neil.
Right I will try and explain with the best of my knowledge what feds are in the UK.
You have:
BAWLA - Drug tested, IPF equipment.
BDFPA - Drug tested, IPF equipment.
BPO - Non Drug tested, single ply equipment, but not necessarily IPF.
BPC - Non drug tested, two ply equipment, more or less anything goes.
We have a wide spread of lifters from each of these feds, so just ask anything your uncertain about.

Youch, if you were to lift RAW in BWLA, you wouldn´t be allowed knee wraps - just a belt and wrist wraps for benching.

Thanks for your responses.
Judging from robt's answer I guess that BWLA do cater for RAW lifters as well as single ply shirted/suited lifters am I correct in this assumption?

Yes mate, I´m entering the British Unequipped Bench Press Championships in a couple of weeks time. I´ve only done 2 comps so far and they´ve both been "rawish" - I wore knee wraps but I´m going to go single ply after this bench press comp.

Thanks for the info guys big help.
I'm 19 and have bin trainin for powerlifting about 2 1/2 years.
I compete in BAWLA. Best lifts to date (gym lifts) squat 210/ bench 160/ dead 220 @ 82.5. My best comp lifts (only done 2 meets) 190/150/210 @ 90. Bombed in squat at british juniors last Jan. Goal at the moment is to total 600+ in Sept with a 180 bench for a junior record @ 82.5.
Justin/any others, are there any contact no's or websites for these feds? Thanks again Neil.
