Jamie Reeves won it, Kaz second overall, Thomas Johansson (Swedish wrestler) third, Gary Taylor fourth. Kurlovich the weightlifter, Tjalling van den Bosch and Torfi Olafsson were the other foreign competitors
Bill Pittuck, Brian Bell, Adrian Smith were competing and maybe some more lesser known UK strongmen as well.
the events:
Farmers walk (on sprint track), Overhead Thors Hammer (in throw circle), Loglift (120kg- Kaz got 11 reps to Jamie's 10), Atlas Stones, Loading and pushing (sandbags and wheelbarrow), Hand over hand car pulling
Jamie's email address: jareeves89@fsmail.net

BrutallyPowerful,
Was Jon Pall competing at this event or maybe there as a guest?
Thanks,
Orie :)

Jon Pall wasn't competing. I only know the results of the competition, and Jon Pall's not mentioned. He may of been there helping out though (may of been injured?)? I also find it odd that big Mark Higgins wasn't competing seeing as he was actually from Bournemouth (I think), and was a good international strongman.

The 1980's were great. But let's not forget Magnusson, Kiri, Taylor, Badenhorst, Hoeberl, Ahola in the 1990's. So many legends!

Kaz, Jamie Reeves, Jon Pall, O.D Wilson, Magnusson, Kiri, Badenhorst and Ahola were all 800-900lb deadlifters. Kaz, O.D Wilson, Kiri, Badenhorst and Ahola were on the verge of pulling 900. Awesome.

Chris (Catch Wrestler) done me great favour and sent me a great video with the 1988 & 1999 WSM and it also had the Pure strength competition on it. Great to see Kaz, Jamie Reeves, OD Wilson, Jon Paul, Magnusson back in their glory days.
Kaz looks awesome in the Pure Strength 3. If anyone remembers it, it was when Kaz cheated by trying to stop Magnusson and ended up pushing the barrel out of his hands over a wall onto OD Wilson....LOL... They would have won it if Kaz didn't lose them the points.

It's going well, except a shoulder injury I've picked, it's really fucked up my bench, I struggled with 145kg with a shirt on tonight. I benched that raw in WSA. I'm hoping my squat and deadlift will bring my total up to qualify for the British, I won't have a squat suit, so it's going to be close.
