I recognised John Power in the pictures, he placed 3rd and his wife Monica placed first in her class. John made me an excellent Steel Log and I'm hoping he's going to make me a set of Farmers Walk Implements ready for April too!

I spoke with Dai Squires yesterday and this is a quote from his e-mail to me:
"Phil Watkins came second in the 90kgs to Justin Manion at the BWLA
British yesterday. He did 280/170/290 for a 740 total. Not bad, as he
pulled his back out warming up on a 220kgs squat backstage. A Welshman
and my mate, Phil "Maggot" Richards got 705kgs to win the 67.5kgs class
with a 182kg bench press new British record in there.
Dave Carter lost out to Jas Sing in the 82.5kgs the day before, don't
know their totals yet though. Though I've seen Jas squat 300kgs and
bench 200kgs in the past. Dave Carter has pulled 340kgs before now!
Jamie Burke of N Ireland got 840kgs to win the 100kgs by miles. Delroy
McQueen bombed out on a 350kgs opener in the 110kgs which was won with
855kgs by someone who's name I've forgotten!
Big Clive Henry squatted a new European record 432.5kgs as part of a
1000+kg total.
Andy Thompson won the +125kgs with a high 900kgs total."
