................... could he make a bum a month club out of Ruiz, Byrd and Vitali Klitschko?

Would he beat all three, stopping them all, with a month between each fight?

I think he would. And that sort of puts his greatness, and the state of the HW division at the moment, into perspective

I have a great respect and admiration for Joe Louis, while holidaying at her majesty's pleasure I read a lot of books and one was of the brown bomber Joe Louis, it's a great book and really puts into perspective the talent of this fighter.

He would make waves in any era he boxed in. He is the type of athlete that comes around every 50-100 years.

I thought he was an excellent boxer, I hated watching Marciano give him a hiding.

As to your original question, I rekon he'd beat all three of them back to back on the same night, never mind a month in between. Klitscho is by far the best heavyweight out there at the moment but that doesn't say alot and he's way down on the all-time top 500 list of heavyweight boxers!

Rocky Marciano was a good fighter. He was one hard bastard.

Would have been a different fight if Joe was in his youth like Rocky. He should have never come out of retirement. It's sad to see.
Legends like Joe should bow out while on top of their game. He defended his title for 11+ years, 25 title defences, he retired on top of his game but he owed back taxes that needed to be paid so he had to keep fighting...

I agree with the both of you.Firstly, there's no doubt that Louis would have beaten the three of them, probably on the same night as you said, and even though Marciano was a great fighter and a tough bastard,Louis would have beaten him if he fought him while he was in his prime.Fighting Marciano while he was past his best,is just like Tyson today, still fighting past his prime. It's really really sad to watch.Tyson and Jack Dempsey are my all time favourite boxers(of any weight division),and it is very sad to see Tyson losing all self respect for himself the way he is!!!!!!!
